Al-Quran Institute is an international organisation dedicated to teaching the Holy Quran in accordance with the proper rules of Tajweed. Tajweed refers to the manner in which the Quran is read, down to the pronunciation of each letter, so we may recite as the Prophet (saw) recited. Learning how to read the Quran correctly is an obligation for all Muslims.
The ideal way in which to learn how to read with Tajweed is under the guidance of a qualified teacher so mistakes may be corrected and recitation improved and beautified. All teachers at the Institute are fluent speakers of English, graduates and more importantly, Huffaaz of the Quran (those who have memorised the Holy Quran) and have Ijaza (licence) to teach. We have both male and female teachers.
Here at the Institute we recognize the value and necessity of well qualified teachers to guide, advise and impart knowledge upon students. We therefore ensure all teachers go through a rigorous recruitment process before being appointed. They must also agree to the Institute’s child protection policy and are further trained after appointment to ensure they are equipped to teach at the Institute’s extremely high standards.
We offer online classes for brothers and for sisters in small, intimate groups, so each student can benefit from individual attention from teachers. The attentive and friendly environment these classes provide offer students the opportunity to not only improve their reading and appreciation of the holy Quran, but to integrate into the Muslim and non-Muslim community.
The Messenger (saw) said,
“Whoever takes the path hoping for knowledge, Allah makes easy for him the path to Paradise. Verily, the angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge out of pleasure of what he is doing. Verily all in the heavens and earth seek forgiveness for the knowledgeable, even the fish in the water. The excellence of the knowledgeable over the servant is like the excellence of the moon on the night of the full moon over all the planets. Verily, the learned are the heirs of the Prophets. The Prophets do not leave a dinar or dirham but it is inherited in knowledge and he who takes it, takes a great bounty.” [Abu Dawood, Ibn Maajah, and Ibn Hibbaan]
The Prophet (saw) states:
The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it. (Bukhari).
Please support us in our mission to spread the message of the Blessed Quran.
